Bariatric Surgery
The Medical City Weight Loss Center has been designated as a Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
It's reassurance you can trust.
Choosing to have bariatric surgery is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. But once you do, the decision of which facility you should turn to for this life-altering procedure and your post-surgical care becomes just as critical.
So we invite you to consider this: Medical City offers the most experienced bariatric physicians in Dallas, the full range of surgical options, a life-long commitment to your post-surgical needs and the comfort of having a hospital of specialists standing by should any complications arise. And finally, the reassurance of being named a Center of Excellence. Which also means, in most cases, your medical costs will be covered by insurance.
The safest way to tip the scales in your favor.
If you’re overweight by 100 pounds or more, or have a body mass index (BMI) of 40 or higher, you’ve probably thought about weight-loss surgery. Bariatric procedures are rapidly gaining a reputation as a quick fix for obesity. But beware: All bariatric surgery is life-changing surgery. And to be effective and healthy long-term, it requires disciplined follow-up for the rest of your life.
One size does not fit all.
Over the last several years, a variety of surgical procedures have been developed to help people with exceptional weight problems. All have pros and cons, and some are better than others for specific patients. While many weight-loss clinics specialize in one or two techniques, Medical City has specialists who can perform all of them. The right surgery for your needs will be determined by you and your doctor after an in-depth consultation.
The right place to start.
With all the choices available today, you need to be informed before you choose a specific treatment. Medical City is here to help. Schedule an appointment for an in-person consultation by calling 972-566-7111 or emailing our bariatric coordinator. And let the specialists weigh in on your situation.
Support Services
We offer support before, during and after your bariatric surgery. This is a life-changing procedure and we are here to provide resources to help you along the way.
To be fully effective, bariatric surgery requires disciplined follow-up for the rest of your life. It is important to choose physicians who provide support well beyond the surgery.
