Board of DirectorsBritt Berrett, PhD, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer While on a two-year mission in Peru, Berrett developed a great appreciation for the role that health care providers can play in improving the quality of life for an entire community. It is his concern for the quality of life in the community that makes him a passionate advocate for excellence in health care and a perfect fit for Medical City. Prior to joining Medical City, Barrett served as chief executive officer of Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, a 306-bed facility located in San Diego and Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles, California. He received his bachelor's degree in finance from Brigham Young University and his master's degree in hospital administration from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Recently, Britt completed his PhD in Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Dallas. Medical City was voted "The Best Place to Work" and "The Most Family Friendly Place to Work" in the Metroplex. It received the "Champions in Health" award, was voted "The Best Real Estate Deal", is recognized by the Texas Health Industry Workforce Commission as an "Exemplary Employer", and in both 2006 and 2009, was recognized to be one of the "Best Places to Work in Texas". Medical City was the first hospital in the Metroplex to be Magnet certified and, most recently received the Texas Award for Performance Excellence by Quality Texas Foundation. We are especially proud of this honor, as it is only the 2nd health care organization to ever receive the award. Community Involvement and Honors
