Mary Wylie, MBA, MHA, FACHE, is the Vice President of Oncology and Medical Surgical Services for Medical City Dallas Hospital. Mary joined Medical City with twenty years of progressive health care management experience, and has served in various administrative capacities within the Texas Health System and Richardson Methodist Medical Center. Mary is a member of the Senior Executive Management Team and is responsible for administrative oversight of the development and implementation of the oncology service line. She also carries operational responsibilities for 8 nursing units.
Mary has extensive management experience in the areas of medical and surgical oncology, imaging, radiation, bone marrow transplant, research, infusion, lab services and program development. Mary also has significant experience in fundraising, having generated approximately $20 million from philanthropic sources to support and fund both educational and clinical services.
She has served as Director of the American Parkinson Disease Association South Central Regional Office, Director of Neurosciences and Outpatient Services for Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, Director of Business Development for Texas Health Research Institute and Executive Director of Clinical Services and Development for Richardson Methodist Medical Center.
In addition to being actively engaged in myriad aspects of the healthcare industry, Mary is also an active member of the community. A graduate of Leadership Richardson in 1992, she was a member of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce Advisory Council in 2007 and served as President of the Junior League of Richardson in 1994. She is a member of the North Texas Chapter of the ACHE and is an active board member of both the American Cancer Society and Home Health Services of Texas. She is also involved with the Allen Soccer Booster Club and the Heights Baptist Church.
Achievements and awards include a Healthcare Administration Fellowship from the American College of Healthcare Executives in 2008, a Richardson Independent School District Region X Sheroes Award in 2007 and an Altrusa Society Outstanding Woman of Today Award in Healthcare in 2006. She was designated a Richardson Regional Medical Center Lifetime Auxiliary Honorary Member in 2006, a Malcolm Baldrige Examiner in 2005 and the American Parkinson's Disease Coordinator of the Year in 1998.
In addition to her busy work life, Mary has 3 daughters: 2 college graduates and 1 teenage soccer player. She received her undergraduate degree from University of Texas in Austin, and her Masters degrees from Texas Womans University. She enjoys playing golf, tennis and cycling.

Marchelle Badon, BSMT (ASCP), is the Section Coordinator of the Stem Cell Transplant and Research Laboratory at Medical City. She earned a BS Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from Northeast Louisiana University. She then completed her training at Rapides Regional Medical Center. Over the years, Marchelle has been a generalist in the core laboratory on all shifts. Her introduction to blood stem cell processing came while working in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has been a part of the Medical City family since 2006.
Working in the stem cell laboratory requires meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic in order to maintain the integrity of the cells, numerous blood samples and documents. In keeping with her philosophy of continuous quality improvement to the lab, she and her co-workers strive to provide the best products for Medical Citys transplant patients. Marchelle is married and the mother of a young son. Their family has a wide variety of interests and enjoy the time they spend together.

Irma Bartlebaugh, RN, provides part-time nursing and administrative support to the Cancer Resource Center and, by her own description, provides lots of smiles and hugs! Among her many contributions to Medical City, she also helps coordinate volunteer coverage for the Center. She completed her Associate Degree of Nursing at El Centro College in Dallas, and has served Medical City in a number of different capacities for twenty-seven years. In 2007, Medical City Dallas Hospital established the Irma Bartlebaugh Ancillary Service Excellence Award in her honor. This honor is awarded annually to an employee that exemplifies excellence and compassion, and serves as a role model to other employees. Irma enjoys relaxing with a good book and a cup of hot tea on the weekends.

Katie Chen, RN, OCN, MSN, is responsible for Stem Cell Transplant Data Management and has worked in this capacity for 2 years. She received her MS in Nursing at the University of California at San Francisco. She has worked with stem cell transplant patients for 7 years.
Kelly Cole, RN, BSN, OCN, is the Lead Clinical Coordinator for the Stem Cell Transplant Unit at Medical City Dallas Hospital. She graduated with honors from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston with a BS in Nursing, and was also accepted into the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Society. Kelly worked with pediatric cancer patients for 3 years in Houston before accepting a position at Medical city in 1995. In 2003, she assumed the role of Stem Cell Transplant Coordinator. Kelly has more than seventeen years of experience in oncology and has earned the designation of Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN). As the Stem Cell Transplant Coordinator, she presides over all aspects of the transplant process. She also performs searches for unrelated donors in cases where related donors are not available. Her hobbies include gardening and camping, and she loves spending time with her husband and 2 children.

Maria Custodio, BSMT (ASCP) BB, currently serves as Quality Assurance and Stem Cell Laboratory Manager in the transplant program. She graduated with a BS in Medical Technology from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She completed her Medical Technology training at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She is certified in medical technology and in blood banking. Maria worked as a medical technologist in the clinical laboratory for 10 years and in the field of quality assurance/management for twenty years. She came to Medical City in 2001 to develop and maintain the quality management program of the Stem Cell Transplantation and Research Program. Maria is responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the quality management/performance improvement plan, and for maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies. Since 2003, she has been an inspector for the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy, ensuring quality medical laboratory practice in transplantation programs across the United States. Marias favorite past time is ballroom dancing.
Deborah Echtenkamp, RN, MSN, CPON, is the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Transplant program. She has been a pediatric nurse for 28 years, working in pediatric oncology for 23 of those years. In addition, Deborah is a Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse (CPON). After gaining experience working in Nebraska and California, Deborah started with Medical City in 1993 and helped to establish the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology program. In her current position, she coordinates the oncology program, with responsibility for managing patient care and the overall program. She received her BS in Nursing from Truman State University in Missouri, and her Masters in Nursing-Clinical Specialization from California State University in Fresno. Deborah is an active member of the Children's Oncology Group (COG) and the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON). She is currently serving as the President of APHON and will continue in that position through 2011. She has also served in various leadership roles for Camp Discovery (our children's cancer camp), including the Co-Director role. Deborah has a wonderful family: 2 beautiful nieces that she spoils, and a "fur-kid"- a schnoodle named Ranger. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling (especially to the beach) and is a Texas Ranger's baseball fan.

Stephanie Evans RD, LD, is the clinical dietitian for the general and surgical oncology units, as well as stem cell transplant. Stephanie has fifteen years of experience in the field of dietetics and has been with Medical City for the last 9 years. She provides education about medical nutrition therapy to new oncology nurses and education to patients and their families through cancer support groups. She received her degree from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. She is currently pursuing her certification in oncology nutrition. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with family, friends and her Jack Russell terrier. She also enjoys traveling and cooking.

Robert Flores, MHA, BSN, RN, OCN, NE-BC is the Manager for the Stem Cell Transplant and Research Program. Prior to joining the Medical City Dallas Hospitals leadership team, Robert worked in various areas of nursing and nursing leadership including pediatrics, stem cell transplantation, adult hematology/oncology, palliative care and hospice.
Robert received his Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from Stevens-Henager College, his Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and his Associates Degree in Nursing from Houston Community College. Robert is a member of the North Texas Organization of Nurse Executives (N-TONE), member of the national chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), member of the Dallas Chapter of ONS and previously served as President Elect for the Way Out West Houston Chapter of the ONS. He is an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) and a Board Certified Nursing Executive (NE-BC). Robert has volunteered for the American Cancer Society and has attended the cancer lobby day in Austin, Texas to advocate for cancer related legislation.
In his spare time, Robert enjoys reading mysteries, watching movies and running/exercising.
Kristin James, RN, BSN, OCN, is the Stem Cell Transplant Coordinator for Medical City Dallas Hospital. She received her BS in Nursing from Baker University in Topeka, Kansas. After graduation, she moved to Dallas and accepted her first nursing position here at Medical City. Kristin attended the oncology/stem cell transplant internship and worked on the stem cell transplant unit for 3 years. She then traveled as a pediatric oncology/stem cell transplant nurse before coming back to Dallas to work as a clinical apheresis nurse. Kristin accepted the position of Stem Cell Transplant Coordinator in 2005. She coordinated transplant services for both adult and pediatric patients. As the lead liaison, she works closely with the National Marrow Donor Program to identify and coordinate the collection of unrelated donors. She follows the patients through the inpatient transplant phase, providing care coordination and education . She is a member of the Oncology Nurses Society and has certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse. Kristin is married and has 2 young boys that she adores.

Cynthia Johnson, RN, OCN, is the Medical City Stem Cell Program Special Projects Coordinator. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Brookhaven College in Dallas. She completed her last semester at Medical City Dallas Hospital on the adult oncology unit, where she also started her professional career as a RN. In 1998, Cindy accepted the position as the Stem Cell Transplant Supervisor. She is currently helping to develop the Stem Cell Transplant Patient Navigator role for our program, in which she rounds with the physicians and assists with daily concerns. She is also the patient discharge educator, helping to ensure a smooth transition from inpatient to the outpatient clinic setting. Cindy has fifteen years of oncology experience and twelve years of stem cell transplant experience in both adult care and pediatrics. Cindy is an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), is ONS Chemotherapy certified and is a member of the national Oncology Nursing Society. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, collecting Madame Alexander dolls and spending time with her family. She has been married for thirty-five years and has 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 yorkies!

Soojin Kim, MT(ASCP), is a medical technologist in the Stem Cell Transplant Laboratory at Medical City Dallas Hospital. She completed her BS in Medical Technology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and has 10 years of experience to her credit. She joined the Medical City team 2 years ago. Hobbies include watching movies and singing in a choir.

Frank Limon, RN, OCN, is the Unit Supervisor for Adult Surgical Oncology. He has been a nurse for sixteen years, and for 8 of those years he has been a part of the Medical City Dallas Hospital team.

Lori Lindsey, RN, MSN, FNP-BC, CCRC, OCN, is the Oncology Nurse Navigator for Medical Citys Lung Cancer Program. Her responsibilities include working with the many specialists involved in the management of lung cancer, while serving as a liaison between the patient and healthcare team. Lori completed her BSN at Georgia Southern University and her MS in Nursing from Drexel University. In addition, she is ANCC certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has twenty-five years of experience in adult medical oncology and for the last 7 years has worked in clinical trials research. Lori is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. She has also achieved OCN and CCRC national certification. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, playing golf and tennis.

Arida Lulo, PharmD, currently works as a Clinical Oncology Specialist overseeing patient therapy practices on the oncology units. She also serves as an educational resource to medical and hospital staff, and works with a multidisciplinary team in the Stem Cell Transplant Unit making recommendations for drug therapy. She has worked exclusively in hematology/oncology for 5 years and served previously as a hospital pharmacist for twelve years. She is married and has 2 children.

Tresa Mace, is the Executive Assistant for the Vice President of Oncology and Medical Surgical Services for Medical City Dallas Hospital. Tresa joined Medical City with over twenty years of executive administrative support and marketing experience. In addition to healthcare, Tresa has background experience in real estate, internet security software development, accounting, and public utilities. Tresa is married and has two grown daughters: one a police officer and the other a Psychologist. Tresa and her husband are avid golfers and enjoy playing in golf tournaments across the State of Texas. Tresa enjoys helping out the community and has participated in numerous fundraisers for the March of Dimes and the United Way.

Cathleen McLaughlin, BS, RN, OCN, is the Manager for Oncology Services. With 30 years of oncology experience, she has assumed various roles including staff nurse, chemotherapy nurse, oncology nurse educator and Medical/Surgical nursing director. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Management from Bellevue University in Omaha, NE. She is currently enrolled in a Master of Science in Nursing Program at Loyola University in New Orleans. An Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) for twenty years, Cathy is a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, working as a support group facilitator and facilitator trainer. Cathy was awarded the Frist Humanitarian Employee Award in 2006 and has been recognized as a DFW Great 100 Nurse. In her spare time, she likes to go to movies, garden and spend time with her husband, 3 children and friends.

Sherry Mercer, MSW, is a social worker for the Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant Units. She received her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Sherry enjoys live music, outdoor sports and spending time with family and friends.

Rodney Moffett, RN, is the supervisor for the Stem Cell Transplant Unit. He received his degree from Butler County Community College in El Dorado, Kansas and has worked as a nurse in Stem Cell Transplant for fourteen years. Responsibilities include direct supervision of staff and oversight of the day to day functioning of the unit. An active outdoorsman, he enjoys remodeling his house and spending time with his two dogs.

Annette Patterson, MS, CGC, is a cancer genetic counselor with a background in biochemistry research and a special interest in medical ethics. She received her BA in Biology from Southern Methodist University, and her Masters degree in Human Genetics from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. From 2000 to 2007, she worked in cancer genetics at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, functioning in both clinical and research capacities. She joined Medical City Dallas Hospital in 2008, and for the last 3 years has also been an adjunct professor at both Southern Methodist University and The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Little Rock teaching Genetics and Ethics and Cancer Genetics. With regard to research, she has participated in a number of studies addressing various aspects of inherited cancer syndromes and the underlying causes of breast cancer survival disparities among minority women. Her hobbies include ceramics and gardening. She also enjoys traveling, snow skiing, swimming and cycling.

Brian Quinn, ThM, is the director of chaplaincy ministries at Medical City Dallas Hospital. He completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at Ulster University in Northern Ireland and his Masters Degree in Pastoral Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. He has served for over twenty years in the field of pastoral care, providing a crucial ministry of presence to the patients, their families and the staff of Medical City. He is a frequent speaker at support groups throughout the hospital as well as ministering to staff in the areas of encouragement and compassion fatigue.
Angela Richardson, RN, BSN, HP(ASCP), is the Supervisor of the Apheresis and Infusion Department. She received her BS in Nursing from Lamar University, has been a nurse for 9 years, and has practiced in the field of Apheresis for 8 of those years. She is certified in Apheresis as a Hemapheresis Practioner. Angela enjoys working at Medical City because it gives her the opportunity to be involved in the patients entire course of treatment from transplant work-up, to stem cell transplant, to outpatient recovery. She especially enjoys providing highly specialized care and the relationships that develop over the course of treatment.
Jan Tichenor, RN, MSN, CNS, OCN, is the Oncology Care Coordinator for adult oncology patients. Her role includes managing the Cancer Resource Center and cancer community outreach, as well as consulting with newly diagnosed cancer patients and/or those needing additional support or education. Jan completed her BSN at the University of Missouri and her MS in Nursing at Texas Womans University. A Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) and an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN), Jan has more than thirty years of nursing to her credit, with eighteen of those years as a nursing faculty member teaching freshman nursing students. She has been with Medical City Hospital over 6 years, and in 2009, she was awarded the prestigious Frist Humanitarian Employee Award. She is married, has 2 grown children and enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her family.
Mayme (Lynn) Tumey, CTR, is the Cancer Registrar at Medical City Dallas Hospital. Presiding over the cancer registry, she collects, manages and analyzes cancer patient data. This data is then used as a basic research tool in exploring the underlying causes and possible cures for cancer. She began working with the Medical Records department in 1996 and transitioned to the Cancer Registry in 2002. Her hobbies include sewing and machine embroidery.
