As the most advanced emergency room in North Texas, er2 allows our specialists to diagnose and treat patients faster than ever. Because we know every second counts if you have an emergency. We have a comprehensive emergency team including physicians, specially trained nurses and physician assistants to care for our patients. Our goal is to provide immediate bedding, which means you will be taken directly to a private room as soon as one is available. And if a hospital stay is needed, we’ll register you at your bedside so you won’t have to leave your room to be admitted to the hospital. Not only does this expedite the process, it makes registration easier for you.

Our specialists utilize state-of-the-art medical technology to provide advanced care. And with a 16-slice CT scanner and ultrasound equipment on-site for faster test results, they’re able to deliver the most effective treatments even sooner. And with over 40,000 square feet of space, er2 has over 50 beds available. Since every bed has it’s own private, spacious room, you’ll receive the treatment you need in comfort.
Smarter care for chest pain
Medical City is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI. This prestigious recognition acknowledges our excellence in diagnosing and treating patients with chest pain. The accreditation includes PCI endorsement, confirming Medical City's expertise in seamlessly transporting patients from the emergency room to the cardiac cath lab, allowing immediate treatment to open blocked arteries. This rapid intervention saves heart muscle. And it can save lives.
At er2, we can perform cardiac markers at a patient’s bedside for the most rapid assessment of their symptoms. We have an invasive cardiac cath lab on-site, so our specialists can treat those patients faster than ever. Plus, our dedicated Clinical Decision Unit ensures that patients requiring rapid cardiac evaluations get the best possible care in identifying, observing and monitoring their condition. Our Clinical Decision Unit includes:
- 10 beds inside er2 for patients reporting chest pain symptoms
- Immediate evaluation and treatment with state-of-the-art observation facilities
- A team of experienced critical care and telemetry nurses, emergency physicians and cardiologists
Calmer just for kids
Medical City Children’s Hospital understands that kids need special care. That’s why er2 also features a completely separate children’s emergency room independent from the adult emergency room. By keeping the reception and treatment rooms for children separate, we’re able to provide a more soothing environment at er2 and give each child the attention they deserve. We know your child deserves the best possible care, so the entire staff of er2 is trained in emergency pediatric care. We also have medical equipment specially designed for children. Our team of emergency pediatric specialists includes board-certified pediatricians and pediatric RNs. A hospitalist is also available on-site daily and on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We also have a highly dedicated child life team providing a variety of services and support to our patients and their families. Our private rooms have enough space for you to stay with your child. Plus, er2 features cheerful colors, play areas, televisions and an interactive gaming station to help our little patients stay calm and keep their siblings occupied. It all adds up to make er2 the leader in emergency care.
